Stained glass colors
a kaleidoscopic blur; now you are
fish, iguana, anemone. You smile
beneath a costumed grin,
gesture with an elegant hand --
yes, this is magic. I am eight.
I soar into a green sky. Unbound
hair trails over blue earth.
Wind tugs tears from wide eyes.

Dragonfly wings scatter
sparks from the sun:
turquoise, tangerine, teal.
We dance weightless
on an iridescent sea.
